Some important insights from one Choir Director:
“When I was set apart for this calling, as Ward Choir Director, I wasn’t sure how i felt about it since I just had my 6th child and my husband is a stake clerk and gone most Sundays and I already have another busy calling. But when I was set apart, the feelings overwhelmed me! I was promised that if I would do simple arrangements of the hymns, the spirit and choir would be much stronger, and would have much more participation because of the familiarity of them.
“But if I would involve the youth, especially my own children, then the words of these sacred hymns would come back into their minds even when they’re in the middle of darkness in the future when they’re facing difficult times ahead, and when at the brink of faltering, the words of the hymns and the spirit they will felt while practicing and performing these sacred hymns in ward choir would come into their minds and they would be able to overcome temptation even in their weakened state.”
